The Department of Theater is delighted to welcome Samantha Lazar and Jane Shaw to our faculty for the Winter 2020 term. Samantha Lazar will be teaching THEA 16: Theatre and Society II; Jane Shaw will be teaching THEA 10.26: Sound Design.

Northern Stage's production of "Only Yesterday" is enjoying a sold-out Off-Broadway run and was recently selected as a NY Times Critic's Pick. Directed by Professor Carol Dunne, the production is a collaboration between multiple Dartmouth faculty and alumnae....

John Heginbotham, Dept. of Theater lecturer and coreographer of the 2019 Tony award winner Oklahoma! in Broadway, was featured in the New York Times.

Professor Monica White Ndounou will be heading a panel discussion with visiting artists Miranda Haymon and Jarvis Green, titled "From Classics to New Works: Curating Black Experiences In Museums, Theatres, and New Territories". Thursday May 9, in the Hood Museum....

A recent feature article written by Associate Professor of Theater Dr. Monica White Ndounou focused on how the 2018 International Black Theatre Summit, which took place at Dartmouth, looked for ways to capitalize on Black cultural success.

Led by Northern Stage Artistic Director Professor Carol Dunne, as well as 2018 Guggenheim Fellow John Heginbotham, the work of our theater faculty members can be seen in New York this winter and spring, both on and off-broadway.

Dr. Monica White Ndounou was recently interviewed by American Theatre Magazine in a piece focused on her work as the host and convener of the 2018 International Black Theatre Summit, which took place at Dartmouth College last September.

An alumnus of the Mark Morris Dance Group and the founder of Dance Heginbotham, Professor John Heginbotham teaches THEA 28 & 29 and directs the Dartmouth Dance Ensemble. He is has just been honored with a 2018 Guggenheim Fellowship in Choreography....
