ABOUT HAIR
Book and Lyrics by Gerome Ragni & James Rado
Music by Gait MacDermot
The iconic American musical, Hair, was born out of one of the most turbulent times in recent history. Though—perhaps—until now. Exactly fifty years later, this production points to where we are, where we've been, and where we might be going...
Performances will be May 11-13 on the Moore Stage

ABOUT THE AUDITIONS

**This first round of auditions are for the principal roles in the show; there will be another round of auditions the first week of Spring Term, for remaining roles/ensemble members.**

Principal Roles include:

Claude: open to all races and ethnicities, male- or female-identifying
Berger: white, male-identifying
Woof: open to all races and ethnicities, open to all gender-identities or lack thereof
Hud: black, male- or female-identifying
Sheila: white, female-identifying
Jeanie: open to all races and ethnicities, female-identifying

The audition will consist of acting and singing.  Callbacks – which will include a dance audition – will be from 6 PM – 10 PM on Wednesday, February 20.

1)  Read the script; click HERE to access the script (we ask you not to print out the script, for copyright reasons).
2)  Decide which character (or characters) most interest you and prepare both an acting and vocal side or sides for that character (a side is a selection from the script) to perform at the audition. No need to memorize; we will have copies available at the audition.

  • Acting Sides can be found HERE.
  • Vocal Sides can be found HERE.

3)  Optional (time allowing): Feel free bring verse and chorus of a musical theater song of your choice, to sing a cappella. (This is entirely optional in order to showcase different parts of your voice than the sides allow.)

4)  Please show up fifteen minutes before your time slot and be prepared to stay late, if we are running behind. There will be an audition form for you to fill out when you arrive.
