ABOUT THE PLAY AND THE PRODUCTION
The sun has gone down. And for some reason, this time it seems to have gone down for good. Newscasters JOHN IN THE FIELD, FRANK IN THE STUDIO, CONSTANCE AT THE HOME, and MICHAEL, LEGAL ADVISOR attempt to reckon with this situation and provide their audience with what little information they have, including an interview with THE WITNESS—who didn't see much of anything. As the possibly endless night wears on and on, the characters become increasingly despairing and reflect on their lives as they attempt to find some guidance or meaning in the night.  In extended, hypernaturalistic speeches the newscasters try to find normalcy and provide guidance for the public tuning in, but finding they have nothing new to share, they begin to fall apart and look back at their troubled, regular lives.

Tragedy: A Tragedy will be performed in the Bentley Theater November 9-11. The production will be directed by Owen O'Leary '19.

Students are encouraged to read the script prior to auditions! A pdf version of the script is available for viewing HERE.
