Experiential Learning Week with the Stratford Festival

The Department of Theater is absolutely delighted to announce a remarkable new opportunity: an experiential learning week with the Stratford Festival, the continent's largest classical repertory theatre company.

Based in Stratford, Ontario, the Stratford Festival is internationally known and respected as a leading producer of classic works, contemporary dramas, and musicals, with special emphasis on the plays of William Shakespeare. This fall, the Festival will be bringing their production of Coriolanus to the Hopkins Center (check out the stunning production trailer below!). The production is part of the Festival's 2018 season, which is focused on questions of identity and freedom - political, cultural, religious, and personal.

As part of the production's Hopkins Center residency, up to six Dartmouth students will be selected to participate in an intensive week-long experiential learning program on-campus: participating in master classes, dramaturgy, production load-in, and co-curricular and outreach programs. Students will be selected from the areas of acting, directing, design, stage management, technical production, and/or dramaturgy.

The application deadline is August 24; the E-week itself will run November 25-December 1. Two of the students selected will also accompany a faculty advisor to Stratford, Ontario to participate in a 3-day intensive September 28 – October 2, joining students from the Film and English Departments.
