Acting I Instructions for Fall 2017:
For this fall, there will be two sections of Acting I (a 10A and a 2A section). First, you must sign up for an interview for the Acting I section of your choice. Sign up sheets for all sections of Acting I interviews will be posted on the Academic Bulletin Board in Shakespeare Alley of the HOP on Monday, September 11th at 8:30AM.
Please note that time slots fill up very quickly, so you definitely want to sign up as early as possible on the 11th.
Interviews are very informal and usually run from 5-7 minutes. However, we ask that you arrive ten minutes before your interview time to complete a questionnaire that you will take into your interview. Please note that interviews will be conducted in Professor James Rice’s office, which is now located on the 3rd floor of Wilson Hall in Room 317 Wilson.
Please note that while you need to sign up on the 11th, interviews will be held on Tuesday, September 12th. Professor Rice will select students for enrollment and notify each student of his or her status. The Academic Assistant of the Department of Theater will then be notified of those accepted into the course and provide each student with Instructor Permission. At that time, students will receive an email from the Registrar which will alert them that they can go ahead and register for the Acting I section in which they have been admitted.
Please note that this is a very popular class and if a student is not selected, he or she is encouraged to interview again, as it is offered frequently throughout the year.
