Students work as stage managers on virtually every performance produced by the Department of Theater, both MainStage and student-driven. Among the most challenging and rewarding positions in the theatrical world, student stage managers are the glue that hold Dartmouth productions together.
Typically working in teams, Dartmouth's student stage managers work closely with faculty members and industry professionals Kathleen Cunneen and Brianna Parry, benefiting from the best possible training and support as they learn the ropes.
Academically, students interested in stage management may enroll in THEA 41: Stage Management. This unique experiential learning course offers students the opportunity to study the craft of stage management while also serving as a collective stage manager on a MainStage production. Students may also choose to pursue stage management through THEA 80: Independent Study.
Students interested in stage managing a MainStage or student production should email Professors Kathleen Cunneen and Joe Cooley and/or click HERE for term-specific production opportunities.
