Beyond our classrooms, beyond our rehearsal studios, the Department of Theater offers students a wealth of opportunities to experience and explore the wider theatrical world.
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING AND NORTHERN STAGE
The Department of Theater enjoys a close collaborative relationship with Northern Stage, a LORT-status professional professional theater located 10 minutes away in White River Junction, VT. Students have the opportunity to intern at Northern Stage through an experiential learning term, offering them a unique insight into and hands-on experience with the professional theater world. Read more HERE.
SUMMER THEATER LAB
Every summer, the Department of Theater turns its focus exclusivly to the development of new work, with three distinct workshop/festivals focused on theatrical collaboration and the creative process taking place on campus over the course of July and August. Students have the opportunity to witness and participate the professional creative process first-hand through unique projects like the New York Theater Workshop's annual summer residency. Learn more HERE.
STUDENT FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
The Department of Theater is committed to supporting students seeking to broaden their experience and knowledge of the theater. In pursuit of this goal, a limited number of funding opportunities are available to help offset costs associated with serious study and disciplined exploration of the wider theatrical world.
