This gripping play unearths the wreckage of war and celebrates the women who navigate and survive the most hostile of circumstances. Their lives set on a nightmarish detour by civil war, the captive wives of a Liberian rebel officer form a hardscrabble sisterhood, drawing on their reserves of defiance, wit, and compassion to ask the question: when the fog of battle lifts, could a different destiny emerge? A chilling, humanizing, and surprisingly funny portrait of survival, transformation, and renewal.

Join director Miranda Haymon and Dr. Monica White Ndounou for a conversation about Eclipsed within the context of contemporary theatrical representations of women throughout the African diaspora. Haymon is currently Artist-in-Residence at the Roundabout Theater in New York City; Dr. Ndounou is an Associate Professor with the Department of Theater and the founder of the Craft Institute. The conversation will be moderated by Laura Edmondson, Theater Department Chair. Free and open to the public.
