    The Shire – An Exploration of New Hampshire Through Contemporary Dance

    Weaving together the natural beauty, history, and culture of New Hampshire's seven regions, The Shire, performed by NH-based NSquared Dance, explores the Granite State through movement and contemporary dance. A deep appreciation for New Hampshire is reflected in the costume design, compositional elements, and the dancers, all of whom are native to the state. With reverence for the state's past, the production illuminates the changes in New Hampshire through dance "snapshots" of our evolving regions.

    The department of theater is excited to announce a Seniors Honors Thesis performances for Orphan Play by Maggie MacDonald '23.   Orphan Play is a new work by Maggie MacDonald '23 which follows a playwright as she tries to write an autobiographical play. As she writes, she begins to relive her memories in the theatrical space of her imagination. Based on MacDonald's life, Orphan Play grapples with grief, loss and the traumas of growing up. Performances will be May 5 at 8pm and May 6 at 4pm and 8pm in Wilson 301.
