ABOUT THE PLAY AND THE PRODUCTION
As the world reaches its final days, three scholars are tasked with the impossible: deciding which pieces of art to preserve forever, and which to leave behind to face sure destruction.

An original work written by Nick Gutierrez '20, this one-act drama was a 2018 Frost & Dodd Student Playwriting Competition finalist; an earlier version of the play was produced as a Studio Lab staged reading in Fall 2018.

This production of Gallery will take place as an experimental theatrical performance, using distance technology. The project is produced by Giovanna Boyle '20 and directed by Adam Riegler '20; it will include approximately 20 hours of rehearsal, beginning immediately, with a final performance date in late May (exact date TBD). The exact nature of the final performance is to be determined (i.e. live stream vs broadcast of pre-recorded performance). The creative team will be working to accommodate different schedules and time zones of participating students throughout the process.

ABOUT THE AUDITION
No previous performance experience is neccesary!

CLICK HERE to sign up for an audition slot; time slots are in 10-minute increments. Auditioning students should also fill out this online form in advance of their audition. If you are not able to make any of the available time slots due to scheduling or time zone constraints, please email Jojo Boyle to discuss the possibility of submitting a video audition.

Students are encouraged to read the play prior to auditions; the script is available HERE for viewing (note that this is a perusal copy only; absoluletly NO printing!). The audition will include reading sides (selections) from the script; sides are available HERE.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN/AVAILABLE ROLES

FELIX: an indecisive English Literature Ph.D. with a sharp temper. He has trouble making decisions about what is worth saving and what is not.

UNA: a no-nonsense Cinema Studies Ph.D. with opinions, dealing with the loss of those closest to her.

KEVIN: a straight-laced Art History Ph.D. with a long career behind him, trying to keep everyone both sane and alive.

CAYDEN HUNTER: a sincere twenty-something freelancer with a slight nicotine addiction. Not used to the world of intellectuals but, ironically, their only hope.
