Savannah Miller '21's play The House was recently selected by DC's Young Playwrights' Theater as one of two plays for their 2020-21 Young Playwrights in Progress new work development program. The playwrights receive monthly script advising from YPT artistic director Farah Lawal Harris and two virtual workshop readings, the first of which takes place this month. The House follows two brothers coming to terms with their family history during the sale of their childhood home; the play originally received a staged reading at Dartmouth as part of the 2018 Frost & Dodd Student Play Festival. In addition to The House, Savannah has premiered three other new works while at Dartmouth: Tell Me I'm Not (fall 2020, remote production), Trivia Champion (summer 2019), and Little Circles (Eleanor Frost Playwriting Contest Winner, 2020). A theatre major and English-Russian double minor, Miller plans to attend graduate school for playwriting and pursue a career as a writer and arts educator.
