This production is the Senior Honors Thesis directed by David Charles Katz '24
A Dream Play, written by August Strindberg and adapted by Caryl Churchill is a Senior Honors Thesis production, directed and designed by students. It will be fully produced and designed, and actors will need to be off book (that is, memorize their lines) for this production.
This production will be casting and have some commitment during Winter 2024 term.
Auditions will be held January 8 & 10 from 7-10pm.
Performances will be May 3-4, 2024.
Synopsis:
A young woman comes from another world to see if life is really as difficult as people make it out to be. In Strindberg's A Dream Play, written in 1901, characters merge into each other, locations change in an instant and a locked door becomes an obsessively recurrent image. As Strindberg himself wrote in his Preface, he wanted 'to imitate the disjointed yet seemingly logical shape of a dream. Everything can happen, everything is possible and probable. Time and place do not exist.'
The Production Team is:

Yifei Liu '26, lighting design
