ABOUT THE PLAY AND THE PRODUCTION
The Ideal Candidate is an original one-act play written by NIck Gutierrez '20 that takes place over the course of one weekend in a strip-mall Starbucks. The main character, Alex, has three “recruiting-esque” interviews set up in the coffeehouse, as he frantically scrambles to find a summer internship. Employing his friend’s advice, Alex employs different strategies to try and impress interviewers, with each one ending in spectacular disaster. Ultimately, we watch Alex question the process and learn something about his personal character, and the impact he’d like to have on others.

This will be a Workshop production, directed by Naomi Agnew '20. Rehearsals will begin immediately; performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, February 28 & 29 in the Bentley Theater.
