  • THEA 30: Acting I full? Register for THEA 10.60: Acting Styles!

    THEA 10.60: Acting Styles is a new course that will only be offered this Fall term! In Acting Styles, you will study, discover, and implement existing and emerging acting methodologies behind stylized acting for specific styles to deepen and develop a robust acting style.  This course will cover the introductory principles of specific Acting Styles (mask, clown, puppetry, surrealism +) utilizing a part theory part practice format.   Who is Professor Escobar?

    During the Spring term of 2024, Dr. Monica Ndounou, Associate Professor of Theater, taught the second iteration of her highly successful course, "Curating Black Theater" (THEA 10/AAAS 32). This class provided its students an opportunity to learn about Black theater history, scholarship and practice in the U.S. and abroad. In the process, students helped develop ideas and curated exhibits that represented a range of formats and platforms.

    The Department of Theater is thrilled to announce our 2024-25 MainStage season.  The Department produces two MainStage productions each year. These productions are directed, choreographed and designed by top-quality, experienced industry professionals. Fall 2024 MainStage: Hamlet  by William Shakespeare Directed by Myxolydia Tyler Performances will be November 1-9, 2024  in the Theater on Currier Winter 2025 MainStage: The School for Lies  by David Ives Directed by Jamie Horton
