ABOUT THE PLAY AND THE PRODUCTION
Three short comedies from legendary playwrights come together to create "Debutantes From Hell: One Night Only!!" "Medea", by Wendy Wasserstein and Christopher Durang, skewers Greek drama and the contemporary actresses forced to perform it. "Variations on the Death of Trotsky" by David Ives envisions the understandably awkward 24 hours between Mr. Trotsky's being struck in the head with an axe and his death. And in "George Is Dead" by Elaine May, a freak accident forces the unhappy reunion between coddled socialite Doreen and Carla, her former nanny's adult daughter. Join us for all five utterly hilarious stages of grief, with four playwrights, three plays, and two performances of  "Debutantes From Hell: One Night Only!!" 

This is a YourSpace project directed by Katie Orenstein '22 and stage managed by Gabby Mitchell '22. The project will include a week of rehearsals in the Bentley Theater, and will culminate in two free staged reading performances in the Bentley Theater on Saturday October 12 @ 2:00 pm and Sunday October 13 @ 6:00 pm. 

Students are encouraged to read the scripts prior to auditions! The three short plays that this project encompasses are available for viewing (Note: no printing please!)

AUDITION DETAILS
No previous performance experience is neccesary!

Please note that roles of many different sizes are available, and students of all genders, races, abilities, and identities are encouraged to audition.

Students are encouraged to read the scripts prior to auditions. At the audition you may be asked to read sides (selections) from the script.
