Theater Faculty Take Center Stage in New York City

The Department of Theater faculty is in the New York theater spotlight this month!

Following its successful world premiere, Northern Stage's 2017 production of Trick or Treat opened last week at 59E59, an off-Broadway theater dedicated to the production of innovative and invigorating new work created by emerging and established not-for-profit theatres. A professional regional theater led by Artistic Director Professor Carol Dunne, Northern Stage maintains a close partnership with the Department of Theater, including hosting Dartmouth theater students for experiential learning terms and regularly featuring them in their productions. Trick or Treat, which recently received a stellar review from Broadway World, was directed by Carol and features a set design by Professor Michael Ganio.

Professor to lead New Initiative for Women in Theater

Dartmouth Lecturer and Northern Stage Producing Artistic Director Carol Dunne has recently been tapped to lead an unprecedented new program to support women artistic directors in professional theaters across the United States. Privately funded by the Pussycat Foundation, the BOLD Theater Women’s Leadership Circle will provide $1.25 million in grants in support for Northern Stage and four other theaters run by women artistic directors during the 2018-2019 season.
