The culmination of the 92nd annual Frost Student Playwriting Competition and the 44th annual Ruth & Loring Dodd Student Playwriting Competition. The winning one-act plays will be performed in repertory over the course of the July 26-28 weekend. New York Theatre Workshop empowers visionary theater makers and brings their work to adventurous audiences through productions, artist workshops and educational programs. Every August, the company brings their work to Dartmouth for a three-week residency, developing and performing six new works-in-progress by some of today’s most innovative professional playwrights and directors. Recent Dartmouth residency projects have included We Live In Cairo, currently in production at Boston’s American Repertory Theater, and Hadestown, which is now running on Broadway and which was recently honored with eight Tony Awards.

The annual summer festival of innovative, experimental, and daring new works returns for the 6th consecutive year. Dartmouth alumni will return to camous to workshop and perform projects in development. This year’s projects include a look at police shootings of African-Americans, a site-specific installation, a musical about an Australian outlaw, and a reading of the winner of the first annual Neukom Literary Prize for best play exploring the meaning of humanity in a digitized world.

If It Isn’t You by Tess McGuinness ’18
This winner of the Ruth and Loring Dodd Play Contest will be fully-produced, directed by Jamie Horton.

Everthing Falls Apart by Jordyn Fitch ’20 and Craters, or The Making of The Making of The Moon Landing by Elise Wien ’17
These two winning plays of the Eleanor Frost Playwriting Contest will be presented as staged readings, directed by Deby Xiadani ’15

VOXFEST 2017

Join us for our fifth consecutive year of VOXFEST! VoxFest is a festival for the development of innovative new projects initiated by Dartmouth alumni. Vox Theater will be in residence at Dartmouth July 1-8 collaborating on four new works-in-progress involving Dartmouth students, alumni and faculty.

All the events below are *FREE* and open to the public.
